Bus

City buses are the main way to get around Pohang. A transit card gives you transfer discounts.

  1. Check routes with Naver Map, KakaoMap, or the Pohang bus-info service.
  2. Board at the front door and tap your transit card.
  3. Press the stop bell before your stop.
  4. Tap your card again as you exit through the rear door.
  5. Use the same transit card when transferring.

If you don’t tag when getting off, the transfer discount won’t apply.

TaxiCommon

Taxi

Use a taxi when buses are infrequent or late at night.

  • There’s no direct bus from Pohang-Gyeongju Airport to the campuses, so many people take a taxi
  • For airport or long trips, check the fare and time before boarding
  • Showing your destination on a map app makes communication easier

  • Some convenience stores accept only cash for transit-card recharges.
  • You can’t board with insufficient balance, so recharge in advance.

Be careful in these cases

  • Not tapping your card when getting off the bus
  • Paying cash and missing the transfer discount
  • Paying for several people with one card
  • Traveling late without checking the last-bus time
